MOTOE series

It has good characteristics that cannot be achieved by a hard coat and application development is promoted in various fields, such as automobiles and optical products. When the surface is scratched, it self-repairs within 1 s and returns to its former gloss.

Principle of self-repair

・The principle of self-repair is that scratches (shocks) are received by elasticity of the resin and restored (returned) to the original shape immediately.
・As gloss is maintained, both light transmittance and haze do not change.

General The benefit of the hard coat is that the higher the crosslink density, the stronger the hardness of the coat film. Scratch resistance is also improved. However, as the coat film tends to be hard and fragile, when scratched, the coat film is cracked at that point and in some cases, the body may also crack. As the self-repair coat MOTOE has rubber elasticity, defects such as low crosslink density and low coat film hardness can be covered using a special rough material to form a soft and strong coat film.
